We’re looking for a few DOs . . .
Throughout its history the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society has relied on dedicated volunteers to help guide the organization and carry out its mission. IOMS is again seeking dedicated leaders who can share their experience, their expertise, and their time to help advance IOMS and the practice of Osteopathic Medicine in Illinois. We know your time is valuable and our volunteer activities are designed to get the most work done in the least amount of time. Work is done via email and meetings, when needed, are held via conference call in the evenings to avoid conflicts with patient care. Most committees will only meet a few times during the year with focused assignments to accomplish the specific task at hand.
Committee activities include:
Membership
Help develop products and services of value to Illinois DOs and increase IOMS membership. The committee meets quarterly.
Education
Help develop IOMS education programs such as the Winter Scientific Seminar and e-learning webinars. The committee meets monthly or as needed.
Legislative
Work with our legislative consultant in Springfield to develop position statements on legislation that impacts the practice of medicine in Illinois. The committee meets as needed when the Illinois legislature is in session.
